Frequently Asked Questions
I want to book a session, what happens next?
Please select your desired date and time and book your session through our booking form. I will then forward to you a standard portrait session agreement as well as your deposit invoice for $100. You session is confirmed as soon as you have paid the session fee and returned your agreement form. For newborn shoots being booked before your baby arrives I will pop your due date in our calendar and spots will be left open and we confirm the date once baby is born.
Newborn sessions should be done sometime between days 5-10. This is when they sleep the most, and still have their amazing flexibility which allow for those adorable positions.
If your baby is over the 10 day mark, this is still perfectly ok to do newborn photos, these photos tend to be a little more natural and we go with what the baby wants to do - still some amazing shots to be had.
Where do you photograph? And do you travel?
Newborns, and up to 6 months of age - the best result are always in my home studio at Redland Bay (I do make some exceptions and travel to new parents homes - contact me if this is something you would like to discuss). I keep my house and studio very clean and sanitized, and am very conscious that your trip to my studio is normally baby's first time out. I take very seriously the health and safety of the newborns that arrive here. I am up to date with all my immunisations and whooping cough boosters.
For babies 9 Months - 1 year old, I do outdoor sessions or in my studio. For this age it works best to give them a little more space to play, and stay entertained to capture those wonderful natural moments. Cake Smash is usually best done in the studio.
We are based at Redland Bay, 40mins from the Brisbane CBD and are currently servicing inner city Brisbane as well as all surrounding areas.
How should I dress for photos with my newborn session or family session?
I encourage all the family to wear light neutral basic colours. tans, whites, and blacks all work great. The simpler the better - no prints or bright colours.
How soon should I expect my photos?
I make it a priority to edit as soon as possible, and upload your online gallery within two weeks of the shoot or sometimes sooner.
Can I order professional prints through you?
Yes, absolutely! Once you receive your online gallery, you can contact me if there is any prints that you would like done professionally. If you
choose to get your prints done at a less qualified location, I can not be held responsible for any disappointment with their printing. Professional photos look best printed by a professional printers. The difference in exposure, color balance, and sharpness completely varies depending on where you get your prints done.
What happens if it's raining for an outdoor session?
If the weather is bad, we will reschedule to my soonest availability.

1:1 Mentoring
When I first started photography I invested a lot of my time and money in educating myself - I still do. Photography is one of those things that you want to strive to be a little better or learn a new technique all the time. I think that's called being creative and having an eye for details, which to me is so much fun.
The only thing is when you first start out in this industry is how overwhelming it is, you play the comparison game (yep, I've been there) and it feels like you're second guessing every edit, every shoot, every setting. Feeling stuck is totally normal and reaching out to educate yourself is your first step to finding your style.
When you decide to start your photography journey, you're not just stepping out on a shoot and taking photos and thats the end of it, you need to figure out your niche, your brand, who your target audience is, your camera settings, how to use Lightroom/Photoshop, enquiries, contracts, invoices and the list goes on and on!
And then when you have those things all figured out you need to find style, your signature, making art that is a representation of you and delivering that to clients with confidence. Half of your photos is also building a memory of getting those photos and building connections that when you deliver that gallery, they're remembering how much fun they experienced.
Where ever you are on your journey, I would love to play a small part in that, and help you. I am completely open and your support is ongoing!
I still find it a little surreal that creatives would want to learn from me, so first of all I would love to get to know you with a little questionnaire. This way we can make sure this is a great match and on the same page so I can help you achieve your goals.
